Girl Scout Meets with Nobel Peace Price Winner

As part of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital Congressional Aide program, Girl Scout Katie met this summer with the newly named Nobel Peace Prize winner, President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

According to the Washington Post, President Sirleaf, Liberian activist, Leymah Gbowee and Yemini opposition leader Tawakkul Karman, were jointly awarded the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize. They are the first women to win since 2004.
